Your application for the History Honor Society can be found under the Classwork section of Google Classroom. There you will find all of the necessary materials.
In order to qualify for the History Honor Society...
* Please Note: You do not have to have completed a Social Studies Elective in order to join History Honor Society. However, in order to be classified as an active member of the HHS by graduation and receive your cord you will need to have completed at minimum one half year Social Studies Elective.
In order to qualify for the History Honor Society...
- You must be a current Sophomore, Junior or Senior
- You must have at least 88 Social Studies GPA if you are a regents or honors student or an 85 if you are an AP student. - Your average includes all of your social studies courses that you have taken in John Jay. For Example, if you are a Junior your Global 1, Global 2, and US History Grade will be considered along with any Social Studies Electives you have taken.
- You must complete an Application Essay (Found in Classwork)
- You must get TWO teacher recommendations, One of which must be a social studies teacher
