Meet Our Officers

Mr. Utter

Club Advisor

Mr. Utter is a John Jay Alumnus whose passion for History was inspired by the teachers right here at John Jay High School. He currently teaches 9th and 10th grade Global History as well as AP World History: Modern and advises Amnesty International and the John Jay History Honor Society. He earned his Bachelor of Science in History from SUNY Oneonta and his Master of Arts in Teaching from Clarkson University

Nash Pillai

President

Nash Pillai is an 11th grader at John Jay High School. Nash enjoys tinkering with his Linux computer in his free time as well as learning higher-level math. In addition to History Honor Society, he is part of the Science Olympiad, Math Team, Robotics, Computer Science Honor Society, and the morning announcements.

Hiroyuki Sakuma

Vice President

Hiro is the vice president for the History Honor Society. He is currently a senior and joined the club at the end of his sophomore year. He enjoys learning about history and outside of the club, he is also the vice president of the school's robotics team and the treasurer for all middle and high school classes at the Japanese Weekend School of New York.
